Incubation Questions...new hatchlings!!

My leopard tortoise just layed its first clutch of eggs. We are so0o0o excited and nervous about incubating them. I have read many tortoise books and looked online but cannot seem to find some answers that I am looking for.



1. Do I bury the eggs a little bit in the box or just let them lay on top of the soil?



2. I marked the top of each egg with a sharpie marker...to know its position when it came out. Will that effect them in anyway?



3. Do I have to decrease the temperature or leave it at 84-86 F, for the whole time? If I change the temp...when do I do that and for how long?
