I have noticed that when they do not have a humid hide the shed cycle seems to take a few more days than if I provided one. This time of year it seems more critical because the humidity is dropping. I keep my snakes in my basement and the humidity is usually 55 percent or so, but not this time of year. It drops below 50 and sometimes down to 35-40 when the woodstove upstairs is burning.(that thing just sucks the humidity from the air) A humid hide is a must from now until spring for me----at least for the snakes I keep up for the winter.
