My rule of thumb is that if I want them to keep eating for me (put on more weight) I leave the hide in (or take it out for breeding but put it back after I take out the male.

I like having the hide out of the cage when there is a breeding pair together....makes taking pics easier

>>this is my second season breeding and dont remember if i removed the hide from my snakes tub last year or not? i have a 1.1 in a sterlite tub 1756 size and removed the hide due to the fact that only one snake can go inside at a time so i just removed it? any opinion on keeping them in a tub with no hide even though they always have one? thanks!!
