In a nutshell Ralph Davis imported the original Platinum. Bred it to some normals and got babies that looked almost like the Platty Daddy but not quite he called them Lesser Platinums. Most people dropped the Platinum off the Lesser name when it was discovered that the Platinum gene was carried on the normal looking offspring of the Platty Daddy.

So Lesser or Lesser Platinum are in fact the same morph.
