My understanding is that this was a committee hearing. From here, they may have another hearing, or it will go to the House of Representatives. If approved, it will then go to the Senate. If approved there, it will more than likely be signed into law by the President. So, there is time. But politicians like to slip things under the proverbial mat......

I appreciate what USARK is doing. I also appreciate what PIJAC has done. (I'm involved in aquaculture and other animal related enterprises as well). While I'm not in favor of a ban, I would not be opposed to a permit process within reason.

Here's an interesting thought comparable to this....Feral Hogs are running a muck in many portions of the US. Yet, they don't dare mess with the Pork industry, no?

On a side note, I'm not sure if everyone is aware of actual studies that are being done to see if Burmese Pythons can live outside of Florida. If not, here's some extra reading.
I think actual science such as this is much more appropriate than data and statistical modeling programs.
