As a general rule I consider anything deeper than 30" to be hazardous to the keeper, unless completely walk in. Reason being you expose more than an arm at those greater depths. OP is free to make their own decisions but read and heed, there are hundreds of cases of retic bites from animals that were considered handle-able.
