A sincere thanks to Chris, Andrew, Web, Dave and Tracy and everyone else that is fighting the good fight. It's great that "our side" has finally made contact with a major media outlet! Now, how do we build momentum and not let it die with a few posts on a blog? How do we engage someone like NatGeo in serious dialog that could carry this effort to the next step and maybe even earn some airtime? Most of the people reading the blog are probably "us". We need to create the opportunity that will allow us to present our side to the masses. We have some really good stories to tell, how do we get that opportunity?
It seems that so far most of our effort has been spent trying to change the minds of politicians that really have no motivation to look beyond what they think they can sell to their constituency. Some of these politicians are guilty of "creating the illusion of a problem", so they can later sell themselves as saviours. Certainly, working the politcal angles and trying to sway those not already commited is important work, but it is clearly not the only front on which we are being assualted. We have been dessimated in the media. Maybe it's time we invested some effort in a non-political forum to reach out to the entire constituancy of the US (not just Floridians and politicians)?
Maybe this is already being done, and just not communicated to the rest of us. But if not, anybody have any marketing/communications experience that might know how to go about such an undertaking?
