My Ornate Nile "Larry" always plays with his food when he's not hungry. If he's hungry he'll swallow several mice right away. Once he starts to fill up, he just chews on them like gum until he's made a sufficient mess and the mouse can no longer be identified as something from this planet. I had an Argentine Tegu that used to "paint his cage" with mice in a similar way. Do you guys see your monitors playing with their food often? Do you think it's playful behavior or have other ideas? |
