Congrats on your new ball. If you scroll down to the "new to ball pythons" thread there is a post with a lot of good links in it in case you need to browse up.



As for your questions: Ball pythons are solitary creatures so you really don't want to house them with other snakes. And as for the sex of the snake it can most accurately be determined by either probing or popping by someone with expereince.
