I had a hypo central american boa that all the sudden after a bad shed dramatically changed color. The color faded out a lot there were even white spots on the body. He would still eat and everything and had no other signs than the color change. he lived for about a month after that And then all the sudden he died. Its about five months later now and another big female i had did the same color change after a bad shed just two weeks ago. She died much faster after shedding and changing colors, she died within a week and actually had symptoms twisting and turning her body acting like she couldnt breath. Now I have another snake that has went through a bad shed and dramatically changed color after the shed no other symptoms yet and he is still alive and eating. The skin on each snake didnt feel the same as normal either. It was kind of dull and dry in appearance and not real rough but definately not as smooth as normal. I am lost at what to even think except to know I do not want to lose any more of my boas. the 2 deceased boas had contact with each other prior to syptoms, the 3rd and still alive one i cannot think of a time there was any contact unless it was indirect like by me accidentally not sanitizing my hands between boas.
