How exactly will banning burms wipe them out in the everglades? They're not going to magically vanish if someone bans them. When you say crap like that, it just gives fuel to the people who say there are 130,000 of them in florida running rampant and wiping out native species. Earlier this year I spent a week and a half in Florida-part of the reason I went was to see all of these invasives-I saw collared doves, mynahs, walking catfish, feral hogs, several species of house gecko, a yacare caiman, green iguanas, spiny tailed iguanas, jungle fowl, monk parrots, conures, cuban tree frogs, and plenty of feral cats, but not a single burm. Yes, they are there, but not in the numbers the media reports-and how many people have you heard of being killed by an everglades burm?



Yeah, the smaller species are safe for now, but do you think the HSUS is going to stop here? Not a chance.
