My husband and I have had this happen before, its been especially recognized in new arrivals. We have Brazilian Rainbow Boas and Ball Pythons. Our boas require a moist hide. We put these in with our pythons when bad sheds occur. Just take a small glad container and put about an inch of moist(wring out after soaking) peet moss in the bottom, then moisten spagnum moss and put on top of the peet moss, finally use black tape/duck tape to cover the sides of the container...this makes the snake feel comfortable and hidden. Cut a hole in the side and put the plastic top on. Remove the other hide you currently have in the setup and replace it with this one. I usually either put the snake in or guide the snake in through the hole. Check on the snake every few hours, if this doesn't work moisten your fingers and rub the spot. I relized that this was also a great way to bond with the snake. I'm sure the moist hide will do the trick. Make sure the snake has a water dish with clean water replaced frequently as well. Let me know how this works out for you...and just so you know, both mosses you can buy at Home Depot or Lowes.
