In the old days, you would hire a PR firm and have them send press releases to news agencies and hope for the best.

We have a much better and faster tool now, and you're on it. We need to use the internet and our interconnectivity to get the message out. But we have to branch out. Here on the Kingsnake forums we are often preaching to the choir when it comes to political issues such as this. I AM NOT KNOCKING THE FORUMS! What I'm saying is we need to speak to people who are not reading these forums.

Post on blogs, especially news blogs, and social networking sites. Provide links and be professional and courteous. Go directly to the news sites and start writing letters. If there is enough interest, they will start reporting on it.

Here's the thing about news: it's still about making money. Interest equals ratings, and ratings equal advertising revenue.

If everyone would just spend a couple of hours a few times a week we could make major progress.

I've been splattering my Facebook wall with updates for the past two days. I'm soon going to move on to some other sites.
