I am posting this message with the permission of Ballroom Pythons South.

Michael Cole from Ballroom Pythons South is heading a campaign to rais funds to offer a reward for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the release or escape of the Burmese Python captured at the Port of Tampa , Florida the week of 13th of December 2009. I think that this is an exceptional cause. I pledged $100 yesterday and Michael has responded that the pledge total is over $18,000!!!

This message was originally posted in the Ball Python forum. You can view the messages there to read the details. The posts are under "ballroom".

I own boas and after Thursdays proceedings on S.373, I am doing everything I can to help. I urge you to join this cause.

Below is some of the post in the Ball forum from Michael Cole. Please feel free to contact him with pleadges or for further information.

The post:

I would like to thank you all for your generous commitments to the reward for the capture and conviction of the person who released the 12 foot Burmese at the port of Tampa last week . We were able to raise over 14,000 in just a few hours for this cause. your all great.

We will keep you posted on the outcome of the investigation

our letter to FWC is below.

Major ,

I am writing you to follow up on our conversation to a commitment from concerned members of the Reptile Industry across the United States. We wish to offer a reward of $14,300.00 U.S. Dollars for information leading to the arrest and conviction of the person(s) responsible for the release or escape of the Burmese Python captured at the Port of Tampa , Florida the week of 13th of December 2009. This commitment is offered to aid in both the awareness of the concerns of the Reptile Industry in Florida and Nationwide as we strive to educate all reptile keepers and pet owners to be responsible for their pets and their actions. Releasing pets into the wild is not acceptable and is illegal.

Please keep me posted of any arrests or court dates that we are able to follow the progress as an Industry and we thank you at FWC for your leadership in the responsible keeping of Reptiles Of Concern.

Below is a list of financial donators to the cause in no particular order. And thanks to all whom pased on the information but were unable to help financially You're all important in this fight to save our pets.
