December 14th..

Ok friends.. it was cloudy and breezy today at the S. Tip of Texas.. but not too cool this morning to maybe see an Indigo snake. I gave it a try.

.

I checked out a hole where I had seen a large shed skin this time last year and guess what? .. I found another! .. must be a large animal, judging from the width of the ventral scutes.

A little later I noticed something suspicious out in the weeds.. can you spot it?

.. a closer look.

.. that turned out to be a mature female Indigo snake.. I most always try to get a record of the face and labials..

.. I also saw this guy.. and I agree with him!
