No, the snake was not ovulating or showing any sign of that at all.. and in the Brownsville area you can find one of these on most any day if you have the patience and energy.

About the timing of their reproductive cycles I can add a little.. This next image is of a female Indigo heavy with eggs (counted 8 lumps) photographed April 24th.

.. the very next day, April 25th, I encountered another female in the same area, this one had every sign of having just laid eggs..

.. this brand-new hatchling was photographed nearby the first week of September.

.. and just for fun another beautiful adult from Brownsville..
