I was also under the impression that it would be illegal to transport across state lines, finished goods made from animal skins (ie, belts, hats, wallets, etc..).
I have since found out that finished products are exempt from the Lacey Act and only the raw materials are subject to its provisions.
Thought I'd share that since I helped perpetuate that myth.
