The laws on native herps are clear if you can find them posted anywhere. Laws on exotic herps are in need of some clarity. I read somewhere that you had to register for permits once an exotic reached a length of over ten feet. They are reasonably priced and are simple permits. I believe that the only thing required was a fishing license to be able to keep them. I know that Bossier city had an ordinance on large constrictors, but I am unsure of the precedents since I don't live there. Currently my wife and I are taking steps to meet with our elected officials concerning the python ban since we have a few of those. I hope that we can get things turning in our favor soon as a group of hobbyists and business persons. I think that too many people are listening to Senator Nelson and his misguided flock of sheep. Any herpers who live in Louisiana and wish to discuss these things are welcome to contact me on here. | ||
