Seems I had some inaccurate information. Apparently the issue is more complicated than I thought. There was a mix up and no intentional crossing was performed. As I understand it, more than one ruthveni line originated from the Audubon Zoo. At least one was compromised and others not.

I received the following quote second hand from a reliable source who by request could not name the origin...

The basis of my curiousity is that I have what is almost certainly a descendant of the compromised line, (as well as one which is reliably pure). The mutt is a beauty and I very much enjoy it for what it is. In posting I was simply trying to make sense of his good looks...which still doesn't make much sense...it's just a darn good looking snake obviously containing a lot of ruthveni blood.
