Makes it easy to get a hot into a deli cup too. I saw a guy put a small kaouthia in a cup that was the most patient guy I have ever seen working with a hot snake. Must have taken twenty five very calm tries to finally get that thing to settle down into the cup. All the while sipping on a big cup of cola with the other hand. Then nearly get tagged at least three times snapping on the lid. I thought there must be a better way, especially as I am not that patient of a guy. I used this deli cup hide/trap technique when I sold it, just taped the cup right to the other one and it was much easier, quick and safe.
