The story I got was it was a Zoo in the 50's then the university took it over .There are videos on you tube with my guide Johnie giving other people the tour.Planning my trip back in Oct. already.To me totally worth the effort to see.But I was digging everything else from crested anoles to the feral green igs.There is a good site simply called reptiles of Puerto Rico. links to good photos.Kind of lets you know whats there on some of the island.
