hI,
sorry for the late feedback - these are the green trinket snakes "Elaphe frenata"......
yep there are more present and active then most of other snakes, the adults and the h´juvenile ones are activ three days after feeding.
Mostly activity zone is during the day.
But:
they do not like to be taken out, if trying to get them out of the cage they become nervous. hondurensis become more relaxed if they grow, frenatas doesn't - the cage is located at a quite place - I would avoid to place them in rooms with traffic.
30 % - 40 % of the size is tail - they need branches and plants.
In summer it becomes about 30° Cel [sorry - more familar with the metric system] in my room and you will noticed that it is near to hot for them - the only occasions you see them in the water.
Typically the are on the branches or on the ground, but they also crawl into the ground sometimes in summer.
So they are indicating that their natural habitat is the mountain area [India, Myanmar, Laos and China].
Hatchlings are about 35 cm and far away from eating mice. I assume that small lizzards and frog will be prefered.
By the end of the day you have to decide if the environmental thinks can be presented and that this animal is what you want.
take care, when wc offered - they have a long journey....
each kind of snake have "good" and "bad" thinks....
I like the Fea's viper [saw a beutyful picture ....a really long time ago] and two years ago I was in the situation to get them....but never playing with poisons at home, I do not have a room which can be cold down in summer, they are real shy animals....so you have a lot of things which must match - http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Azemiopinae
