Well, to make a long intro short I stumbled across an email, which lead to contact, and brought about realization about the Colorado branch of the USDA has copied FDA's 1975 law Title 21 CFR 1240.62, altered it to suit an ignorant purpose, and put it into effect. This new law of the USDA is state law 35-80-108, and upon emailing one of their "PACFA Inspectors" found some terrible new (to me) facts. I may not be the quickest on all herp news, and I don't know if this has been touched here - But my home state needs the help! I was informed that this law covers everybody instead of just commercial businesses as per the FDA law... And this person made it sound as though you can be punished for even owning a turtle under the 4 inch shell length, even if your the one that hatched it out! I don't own turtles, and I know the 4 inch turtle rule can be on shaky ground; but one bad law can and will allow more as we are already seeing. My question to all is this: How do I help? Start a petition? Letter campaign? Or?
