I can only partially agree with your last statement about breeders simply selling something else. I am mostly worried about 2 unreasonable precidents being set. One is that the big 9 do not present an invasive threat in most of the country. Two is that Boa constrictors should not be considered big.

If we allow these precidents to be set it is only proving that they can get away with passing unreasonable laws.That only sets the stage for and encourages more unreasonable laws being passed.

A side effect of this law is that a significant portion of the hobby will go underground. Those people who choose to go underground will then be less able to fight any future unreasonable laws. Hence the hobby is weakened, setting the stage for easier passage of increasingly unreasonable laws.
