As always, thanks Lance and crew - I really appreciate it! Last season, the big lesson I learned is that I didn't have the proper lamp gear, so I need to fix that this year. I Plan to do a lot hunting in the outback this year (camping non-protected public lands), and the bottom line is how many batteries I want to carry around. It seems to make sense to save the money and get the regular Apex, and carry the extra batteries in my camelback. In the end though, I might just break down and get the 8 AA Apex model. And Lance, you are right, I plan in bringing a flashlight just the same.
