I haven't starting breeding just yet, but I have experienced males with this type of behavior. I had two adult males, well into breeding size, right next to one another in a rack. When my sub-adult females came into "season", both males were constantly trouble. Tipped water, bedding shoved to the front or back of the cage, and even got a little interesting to handle. I moved one of the males the bottom of the rack and the behavior slowed and stopped. So my suggestion is that he might be "smelling" the other males. You could try moving him, but it might not help. He may just be trouble for a while Welcome to breeding though!
