It seems like the gecko may have a foreign object lodged within the eye. You can put the gecko into a shower & adjust the water to luke-warm. Keep a light spraying action over the gecko for about 20-30 minutes. You should monitor the gecko to prevent any possible problems. Make sure the water drains well, too. If this technique does not work, you should make an appointment with a vet. If it is an eye infection, most likely, they will prescribe Gentamycin antibiotic eye drops or Terramycin antibiotic opthalmic ointment. I'm not familiar with the Renue eye drops, but I would be wary of using an unknown chemical solution not prescribed for reptiles.
