Travel and Leisure: Animal Attacks, Venomous Snakes

The first page in this article villifies the "giant snakes" in Florida, and mentions them again on the page above. However, it appears as though it is exotic venomous species, and not pythons, that are the real threat to people in this ecosystem. Has anyone pointed this out to Congress or Florida State yet?
