There are exceptions for certain species that are common in the pet trade and don't pose a risk to native species. The CTDEP has denied me shipping eastern box turtles to potential adopters in CT, and these are animals that would have been coming with a certificate from my end, and such bad shell deformities from improper husbandry (by former keepers) that they would have never survived in the wild - they were denied with no questions asked by DEP. Several potenial adopters over the last three years have asked and all have been denied. | ||
