One day my husband said we are going to go get a snake. It started with one little baby royal python. The deal was my husband was to care for clean the cage and I was in NO way shape or form going to feed the snake. Well less than a year later we had 24 snakes, including a successful clutch of 10 blood pythons and a 10 foot burmese python that we rescued who had a broken neck and I had to assist feed 2 times a week. By that time I had been bitten by a blood python (he was just a naughty snake), one of the royals (during feeding time of course), a couple of Amazons and one snotty kingsnake (he doesn't mean anything by it...he just bites when he is hungry). Unfortunately we had to rehome most of our snakes when my husband joined the military and we had to move cross country but there were 5 that we wouldn't part with...which meant that I (the one that HAD been beyond terrified of snakes) loaded up the car with 5 snakes and two doxies and drove cross country to our new home. Oh yeah I should probably mention that of the 5 that we kept 4 were mine and I let my husband keep one of his...course to be fair of the 24 that we had I think only 2 were totally his. So there is hope for people who are the only snake lovers in their homes!!! | ||
