....it could also be occlusion of the lacrimal duct but this usually leads to bulging of the spectacle. Small abcess' such as these often arise spontaneously but injury is a frequent cause, or sometimes an "ingrown" tooth. Lancing is not difficult but every case is different. Scott J.
