Its true that its not mandatory, but it is a lifestyle choice.
I am all for promoting a healthy life, but this seems to take it a bit far.
To me its like some official suggesting we have "Carnivore Wednesdays" or "Gay Tuesdays" - Its not something that should be pushed or supported like that - I certainly wouldn't want my tax dollars supporting this if I lived there.
If I were a businessperson there who had a food related business, It would encourage me to have tongue in cheek "Murder Mondays" or "Meat Filled Mondays" at the same time, simply to be contrary, where meat was in every featured dish on that day. It might tick some folks off, sure, but think of all those who were bothered by the Meatless Monday malarkey would would come in to support it.
