To each his/her own. I do osteo prep, and taxidermy, and dealing with maggots, flies, rotten meat and decaying carcasses has never once affected my appetite for meat. I don't even need the Ben Gay, as the smells no longer bother me.
As for the Catholic church thing, its is irritating, as in South America the Redfoot Tortoise & Capybara are both OK "fish" substitutes, along with other aquatic creatures from what I have been told.
