I've never heard anything good about these bulbs. Long tubes provide UVB and usable light over a much larger area than CFL's. Some CFL's were known to case eye damage. Has this been corrected? I'm skeptical and there was no recall so who knows if the bulbs on the shelves are safe or not. See the link below for the problem.
