Mites - how the ...

I have been keeping monitors for almost 20 years and I have never had mites - so I have never had to deal with them. I was gone for a week, returned home and found mites running around on my dumerils and in the cage. I only have this one 18 month old reptile and have no idea where they came from.



The last thing I added to the cage was some dirt 2 or 3 months ago, but that has never contaminated my terrarium before. Does anyone have safe effective ways to terminate these little guys?
