Are they for sure mites? Currently, what are they doing in your cage? Are they focussed around eyes and ears of your monitor, and walking all over him? OR are they around the cage, in the soil and eating leftover food and poop?
If they aren't 'bugging' your animal, they are decomposers(springtails)there to help you with some extra waste. They also help breakdown leaves and soil as well.
If they are really bothering your monitor, you're going to just have to do a good cleaning. replace and soak everythiing in hot water.
