State poised to ban the sale of Burmese pythons Read more: http://www.miamiherald.com/2010/04/29/1603455/state-poised-to-ban-the-sale-of.html
And similar - http://www2.tbo.com/content/2010/apr/28/281515/exotic-reptile-ownership-under-scrutiny-state-comm/news-metro/ State commission approves ban on large exotic reptiles
(It says Boa constrictors are included in this ban, I thought they weren't? This just more bad reporting?)
Pay close attention to the "see who owns these animals" feature, like they have on the sex offender sites... http://www2.tbo.com/static/news-special-reports-data-bay/tbo-special-reports-snake-licenses/ So, according to that - "Nearly 350 people and businesses in Florida are licensed to own what the state classifies as “reptiles of concern” (ROC) or “venomous reptiles” (VR). Use this database to see who has one in your neighborhood or if your neighbor has a license to keep that python or anaconda."
Anyone else feel like that is not only creepy as hell, but puts us as snake owners in danger of crazies?
