>>Well if there is no original red pigment to be absent then how can you be sure? What if it is anery? You would never know the difference right?

Here we go again.....
I wasn't trying to argue, but a snake has to have red on it in its original form to be lacking to be called anery....The red pigment is replaced by the absence of the red pigment....which is white.

Splendida are normally black and yellow......When the yellow is absent and replaced by white it is Axanthic.........

Anery snakes can be axanthic as well, but axanthics are not anery........

erythrin = red
xanthin = yellow/orange
melanin = black

anerythristic = no red
hypoerythristic = reduced red
hypererythristic = exaggerated red

axanthic = no yellow/orange
I don't know if there is a hypoaxanthic or hyperaxanthic.

amelanistic = no black
hypomelanistic = reduced black
hypermelanistic or just melanistic = all black or exaggerated black
