Jorge,
In the hobby we use all sorts of names for allelic compatiple recessive traits. the name really does not matter. What matters are they the same thing.

For instance, is the peanut butter the same as a hypo?
Is anery the same as axanthic? No! In the hobby they are not compatiple.

And that is all that needs to be known for us. After all it is just names that man assigns to animals. As we know, even nomenclature keeps changing their spp names.

But to clarify the Anery vs Axanthic names. I asked Dr. Bern Bechtel (who wrote the book on reptile genetics) what he thought. He said the terms can be used interchangably. For instance when does yellow become red? Orange? We all know that Florida king neonates have a lot of red. later this red turns yellow or sometime retains its red (ex the new Flames Florida kings we saw posted).

This is also evidenced in Dr. Bechtels book by the confusing pics , seemingly mislabled, such as a tricolor labled as axanthic and not anery.

So to the point... the axanthic i see in the splendida pictured look like the same recessive trait as the axanthic in Florida kings. I bet they are even allelic. If it was an anery, it would have a different "look".

So for practical and other reasons , yes it is an axanthic.
