Toby has offspring from the original South Koreans, which I got from Lloyd Lemke, which came directly from S. K. This is still a very strong line. I also have offspring from the originals. The largest clutch from the original female was 16 eggs, which is tied for the record size (Schulz '96). She was about 46 inches in length. This is also one of the largest of the Dione's ratsnakes.

Your Russian dione are probably from the area around Vladivostok, where most of the Russian diones have come from. That's near the northern limit in the Russian Far East. The one in the pic looks similar to the Korean dione.

I've only seen South Korean dione offered by someone else once in the last fifteen years. I bought a pair, but they didn't look much like mine. They were more like the Russians. So I didn't continue that line. Haven't heard of anyone else that has continued that line.

I've seen several different localities of Chinese dione through the years. One locale was similar to the South Koreans in size, etc. We used to call them "high yellow." Anhui Province is close to the Yangtze Basin and the range of Elaphe bimaculata. So, I'm thinking this might be a form that is large in size, maybe some good yellow, and they might look somewhat similar to the bimacs. Have you shown any pics of your Anhui dione, yet?

Thanks...Terry
