Hello,

I posted something similar a while back asking for the advice/opinions of others.

I thought it wouldn't hurt to give this a shot, so here goes:

In August, I am shipping off for Army Basic Training. This has been both an exciting and horrible change for me. I am very attached to my pets and having to part from them is difficult. I currently have two dogs, a blue tongue skink, two ferrets, and a ball python.

My mother does not mind caring for my dogs, so that is not a problem.

My more "exotic" animals have become an unfortunate issue, however. My mother, nor anyone else I know, is willing to watch my high-maintenance ferrets or my reptiles.

My ferrets will most likely have to find new homes and I am going to see if the breeder I got my BTS from is interested in him.

But then there is my ball python. I've heard of other people getting breeders to "board" their snakes or letting them "loan" their snakes. I would not mind doing this if it was well planned and well thought out.

I would not mind paying someone monthly to watch my ball python (08 spider male from BHB) and making arrangements of some sort if they were interested in breeding him.

We would have to take into consideration what happens if my snake gets sick and needs to go to the vet, how any clutches would be divided, etc.

If someone has any advice or suggestions, or is willing to work with me, it would be GREATLY APPRECIATED!
