Of course I agree with you, John. But if you spend much time here on the forum it's easy to see where that impression comes from. How many times have Environmentalists and animal rights people been lumped together here? The truth is that the right wing in this country hates environmentalists, conservationists and animal rights wackos in equal measure, and their mouthpieces lose no opportunity to paint us all with the same broad brush.
