Hi all,

I'm new to the forum and would like your help.

I recently had 4 eggs from my female Western Hognose. 2 of those eggs hatched at 50 days, the other 2 died. One egg became moldy at around 38 days and ended up a smelly bag of goo. The other egg was fine until about 44 days when it too began to mold. At 48/49 days the egg collapsed, so i cut it to make sure it was about to hatch and not dead. Unfortunately it had in fact died(it appears my incubators heating malfunctioned as the yoke looked fairly solid).

To the point, the 90% formed hatchling inside had the colours of an Axanthic. My question is, did it look that way because it wasn't 100% formed or because it was indeed an Axanthic?

I do have a few pics and will post them as soon as i figure out how
