I don't see in any of the news stories so far that there have been any warrants issued for Terry's arrest. I don't know Terry personally, but as far as I know, it's not illegal to have "a treasure trove of reptiles", or be the owner of defunct businesses, or have business relations in association with a strip club in Milwaukee, keep odd hours, or be out of the country when police decide to break into you building and steal your animals. The fact that his companion is in jail for animal cruelty is disturbing, but I'm inclined to suspend judgment on the matter seeing as though it's same police holding her that needlessly shot and killed their two dogs. No matter how this shakes out, it's obvious that at this point the press has sensationalized and manipulated the perspective on this thing way out of proportion (what's new)- it's much more interesting reading about a "creepy guy" with horrible man-eating reptiles (who could have been living next to you), than just another story of police brutality and corruption.
