In my opinion a good proportional would be better... I have the Big Apple proportionals on all of my rack... Been using the same ones for years without issues...

You should spend the extra 70 bucks for the quality product... When it comes to our reptiles heat source, we should not go cheap...

Also you do not want to keep your Hogs like you do Milks... While they are both North American colubrids, their heating requirements are a bit different...
