Yes, the Mexican bairdi come from a small gene pool, but are legal. I got one of mine from Dusty Rhoads and one from the zoo stock. Todd Hughes is breeding at least one pair. Mine are only two yrs old, so won't reproduce this year.

PS: Bob is correct about "impure" crosses out there...

So that leads me to wonder if the Mexican bairdi that are here originate from a very small original stock of imported animals before those laws, or if some of them were imported illegally. Hmm.
