Their saliva does seem to interact with the food item ...as in, if they drop an item after beginning the swallowing process. That slime they leave where their mouth has been is something else. I'm pretty sure those salivary enzymes are digesting the food item from first contact. Many venoms are specialized digestive enzymes. | ||
