Crickets too big??

I've heard feeding too big of prey can paralize a dragon. He is 12" long and the space between his eyes is about an inch. I can only find full grown crickets or 1/2" crix. Is it really a problem feeding him full grown crickets, they seem to be a 1/4"longer then the space between his eyes. He just eats like 50 1/2" crix everymeal at least. Do you know of online crix stores with a larger variety of sizes?
