Great trip report! I used to live in Las Vegas and I never once saw a king or desert longnose there. However, riding a bike on the road just past the entrance to Red Rock I saw my first and only Gila Monster. It ran off the side of the road onto a pile of sticks and turned around and stared back at us. Nobody had a camera.



Congrats on your success. I've hiked in Red Rock a lot and never saw a snake.
