Is it not possible the pied is in fact a simple recessive and the markers are possibly a completely separate codominate gene? As with many morphs of many types of snakes, most all of the morphs originated from a single or very limited number of parents. Thus, with inbreeding and whatnot to prove them out, this would for sure pass those codom genes on. | ||
